Airplanes and cameras go hand in hand, especially if you get a window seat on a new 787 Dreamliner with the extra large windows. Here are some of my best shots (all shot with my Leica M6)
Shhh...don't tell anyone, it is a secret. The secret? The strangely random but excellent Frankfurt - Santiago de Chile (via Madrid) connection. I swore I wouldn't turn into one of those people that writes about airplane routes (there are plenty of better sites for that kind of stuff), but this one is worth a mention.
I remind myself that this is a photography blog and before I share some of my favourite shots from this flight let me explain a bit further. LATAM airlines runs a daily flight leaving Frankfurt at 19.25, landing in Madrid at 22.05. This same flight then departs to Santiago de Chile. Why am I so excited about this flight? It runs on a brand new 787 Dreamliner. Forget your small Airbus A320 for the 2 hour hop to Madrid - you get the full deal, TVs, big airplane, and most importantly: massive windows. Yes, the Dreamliner's have massive windows - great for photographers!
I thought I would share my favourite shots: the shots below are shot mostly with my Voigtländer 21mm lens. The ground shots are mostly shot with my Leica Summicron 50mm.
Enjoy the photos and remember - stop reading this, pick up a camera and go shoot some photography!
Cheers, Neil
